Repair of taxiway TWY A in the section from TWY B to TWY A1
This project involved the reconstruction of holding point THR24 and taxiway TWY A by replacing the surfacing and reinstalling the illuminated beacon lights adhered into penetrations into the new tarmac material.

Existing taxiway TWY A showed a range of deficiencies, including cracks, surface corrosion and ruts.
In the scope of the load-bearing airport tarmac surfaces defined above, the wear layer was replaced with a new ACO16 S layer using modified asphalt. The new wear layer was 60 mm thick.
The 60 mm thick underlayment was also replaced in 11 m-wide strips symmetrically along the axis of TWY A.
A new ACL 22S layer using modified asphalt was proposed to prevent the formation of rules from slow moving aircraft as they taxi.
The cracks in the underlayment and upper base layers were milled and repaired using fibreglass geo-grids.
Traffic signals and symbols were then applied on the finished asphalt surface to complete the project.
