I/3 Mirošovice – Benešov, 2+1 configuration

The I/3 road is a major transport corridor of international importance connecting the south of Europe from the Adriatic Sea to northern parts of Europe and the Baltic Sea.

Construction period: 2016/07 - 2017/04
Total value of the contract: 74 820 840 CZK excluding VAT

This project involves the expansion of the existing I/3 road to add an additional lane of travel and to construct a new merging lane to increase safety. “Quiet” Microville asphalt will be used on wear layer of the asphalt road surfacing to reduce noise levels in the surrounding area. Work includes installation of a half-portal structure with an information panel for drivers. A gabion retaining wall structure and a space for telematics maintenance vehicles will be installed at the location of the half‑portal. Given the fact that the construction work on the I/3 road in the 1970s did anticipate the construction of a 4-lane road, the existing road is wide enough to add an additional lane of travel.

The project will result in partial closures on the road.

Contractor: "Company PORR + COLAS, I/3 Mirošovice - Benešov", Leading member of Consortium: Porr, a.s. (50%), Member of Consortium: COLAS CZ, a.s. (50%)

COLAS CZ a.s. will perform 10.6 km of the total 14.3 km of work on the road.

Planned work:

-          laying asphalt layers: 8,728.0 t

-          construction of gabion retaining wall: 482.0 m3
