D1 Renovation of carriageway D1 km 199.3 – 204.6 on the right

Renovation of the carriageway asphalt layer encompassed an overall area of 71,354 m2.

Construction period: 2016/07 - 2016/11
Total value of the contract: 165 401 538 CZK excluding VAT

The investor of the project is the Road and Motorway Directorate of the CR.

The construction project is being implemented by the “D1- 199 STRABAG+COLAS Consortium” of COLAS CZ, a.s. and STRABAG a.s. (50%/50%). The leading member of the consortium is STRABAG, a.s..

The construction project is under way. The original cement concrete layer of the carriageway is being removed and replaced by asphalt layers. In the parts of the carriageway with asphalt concrete surface the wearing course and the base course will be replaced, expansion joints and accessories on the bridges will be repaired, and further operations will be implemented, including modification of central reservation crossings, drainage system repairs, reinforcement of shoulders, restoration of safety elements, modification of SOS roadside service point surroundings, horizontal traffic markings and vertical traffic signs.

Unlike the construction project of the same section in 2015, the construction project includes work on the central reservation, including replacement of cabling and conduits, the drainage system and crash barriers, and replacement of tunnel fronts (5 pieces).

Over the last 24 years, Colas has been acting in partnership with public authorities to improve road safety, and will continue to play a strong role in the future with the new agreement.

Kácov bridge

The Kácov bridge project involves the construction of a new three-span road bridge with a total length of approximately 75 m over the Sázava River. COLAS CZ built the new bridge to replace the existing structure, which is no longer suitable due to poor condition, limited load capacity and unsuitable geometric parameters for traffic crossing.
