Visit to the Polish Rogoźnica quarry

December 4, 2018

On 8th-9th November, 2018, 4 our colleagues from Quarries Agency, involved in the talent program, took part in the internship at the Rogoźnica quarry.

In this quarry, owned by COLAS Polska, the technological equipment is in operation according to the latest trends.

It is distinquished by the following points of interest:

• Large production line variability - the possibility to produce different kinds of final products and different quality grades according to customer requirements

• Technological equipment for removing fine particles (dust), especially smaller fractions, using a water-operated washing machine, a dust dehumidifier and a high-pressure hydraulic press

• Large quantity of material dispatched by rail, loading into wagons directly in the quarry

• Possibility to dispatch final products directly from individual landfills through a common tunnel conveyor

In the quarry, a large investment was made a few years ago, therefore the technological equipment is at every step of the way seen in the state of the art and according to the latest trends.

The colleagues appreciated the opportunity to look into the production in another country, learn about the impact of new technologies on the quality of production, its efficiency, or the entire unit management system. Ecological measures and efficient loading systems, especially for railway application have also been found rather interesting and instructive.

Next year, we would like to welcome Polish colleagues in our country to have a comparison of how the quarry is operating in the Czech Republic.
