Reconstruction of a footbridge over the Lužnice, Tábor – Harachovka
January 6, 2014
Reconstruction of a footbridge over the Lužnice River was started in the middle of 2013 and the work lasted for three months.
The bridge is located in a protected landscape area at the western edge of Tábor, in a forested part of the valley. The original structure was built in 1941. The purpose of the reconstruction was the improvement of the technical condition and the extension of the life of this exceptional engineering work. The reconstruction involved treatment of all concrete surfaces, replacement of the railing, creation of new walk-on surface insulation and static reinforcement of the bridge deck by the application of carbon plates. The reconstruction was performed by the deadline and in top quality, despite the fact that the Lužnice River flooded during the construction. The investor was the Town of Tábor.
