"My dad works here!" campaign

May 13, 2019

On May 13, 2019, a "My dad works here" campaign was launched within the COLAS Europe Group.

MY DAD WORKS HERE!

Safety campaign to increase awareness of road users to improve safety of Colas employees

Road construction projects represent our main activities. Our employees work regularly on construction sites with presence of road traffic. How many times have you seen such construction site? Your speed limit is gradually slowed down. You pass by the machines, the trucks, the smell of fresh asphalt and the people who call such sites their daily workplace.

Road construction are at heart of our activities, therefore road safety belongs to the long-term priority of the Colas Group. Campaign My Dad works here! was created to bring such construction sites into the attention of all employees, their families as well as general public. Colas Europe launched the campaign with logos created in thirteen different languages versions.

As a part of our daily business, we put in place safety norms and procedures, secure the construction sites in order to create a safe working environment for our employees.

Despite all of the effort, we cannot control the behavior of third party road users. However, we can inform, persuade and motivate the public to be aware of the risk related to road construction sites and to change their behavior accordingly.

You can discover more in a video, created by National Asphalt Pavement Association, for their similarly focused campaign called 'Watch for us', created in co-operation with Washington State Department of Transportation. (Colas is a member of NAPA).
