The summary of contracts with the contractor (investor) was signed on 24 July 2015. The project amounts to CZK 143.042 million, excl. VAT. On 4 August 2015, we took over the site for preparatory work and the actual implementation started on 5 September 2015 at 7 a.m. with the installation of temporary T3 concrete crash barriers in a total length of 7.450 km.

When repairing the existing asphalt-concrete roadway, the wearing course and the base course will be milled to a depth of 120 mm and a base course in a thickness of 80 mm and a wearing course in a thickness of 40 mm from modified asphalt will be laid. The length of the repaired section is 5,300 m in the D 26.5/120 category (the D1 category will not be changed by the reconstruction). The M-SILNICE section is from km 199.3 – 201.8 km left and the COLAS CZ section is from km 201.8 – 204.6 left. The reconstructed section of the D1 highway incorporates two intersections of Brno Slatina and Brno Ostravská. The project includes reconstruction of 3 bridges, cleaning or potential change of the drainage system including drainage shafts and change of drainage troughs, construction of CurbKING monolithic troughs, reconstruction of SOS telephones, removal of original steel crash barriers and replacement with new barriers, demolition of the original cement-concrete layer, milling of the asphalt surface D1, a complete change of the roadway and the application of horizontal marking and the traffic signs. The construction will proceed under limited traffic at partial stages. Traffic will always be maintained on at least one half of the highway. Opening for traffic is expected in the middle of November 2015.

The construction is carried out by: COLAS CZ, a.s., the Road Engineering division, the South territory, the South Moravian Region, Tyršova 748, 664 42 Brno – Modřice, Ing. Jeleček Petr, the chief site manager
