COLAS modernizes Senegal's Saint-Louis Airport

May 31, 2021

In cooperation with the Czech company Transcon Electronic Systems, COLAS is completely modernizing the first of Senegal's five regional airports, which has been in operation since the colonial era (1927).

The construction phase, which mainly includes works on paved areas and asphalt works, is being carried out by the COLAS Group's subsidiary in Senegal. Recently, the construction site was visited by Frédéric Gardès, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the COLAS Group, and Tomáš Krones, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of COLAS CZ, who had the opportunity to inspect the ongoing construction works on the airport in Saint-Louis.

The new modern airport made of modular units manufactured in the Czech Republic will meet international standards and improve transport accessibility in the region. The export of the modular system is insured by EGAP, a state-owned export guarantee and insurance corporation, and financed by the state-owned Czech Export Bank together with Komerční banka.
