COLAS CZ at the ROADS 2016 conference

June 29, 2016

On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, a one-day professional conference called “Pozemní komunikace 2016 – Pro změnu změny” (“Roads 2016 – Change the Change”) was held, having been organized through cooperation between the Department of Road Structures of the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) and Czech Road Society (Česká silniční společnost). Our company was one of the major sponsors of this conference, and Associate Professor L. Vébr thanked us for our support in his opening speech.

The conference was attended by several important guests, including Professor Petr Konvalinka, the rector of ČVUT, Jan Kroupa, General Director of ŘSD (the Motorways and Highways Directorate), and Zbyněk Hořelica, General Director of SFDI (State Fund for Transport Infrastructure).

Among the entries that won the greatest commendation there was the one presented by Radovan Hrnčíř, Director of HBH Projekt spol. s r.o., that focused on the time-consuming repeated process for approval that was set by EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), requiring all projects that had been approved already to undergo an additional reassessment. Another outstanding entry was presented by Jaroslava Škarková, a representative of Dálniční stavby Praha, a.s., that concerned on poor arrangements and contradiction in TKP1 (legislature related to technical qualitative conditions) revisions

There was an amicable atmosphere prevailing at the conference. This certainly helped the participants to gain new, interesting information, and it also strengthened cordial relations between representatives of rival companies.
