The construction will be performed in two stages. First, the Prague-bound bridge will be demolished and traffic will be transferred to the other bridge; subsequently, traffic will be transferred to the new bridge and demolition and construction of the Plzeň-bound bridge will proceed.
Part of the work performed in 2015 must be completed to allow the passability of the I/26 route in the winter without any restrictions.
The construction will involve relocations of the utility lines. It is necessary to create a temporary support structure for their temporary passage during the construction; the gas pipeline will be permanently laid on a new separate platform constructed between the bridges.
