May 29, 2015
The "Třebíč changing terminal", for almost CZK 140 million, was ceremonially opened on 29 May 2015
The event marked the opening of the second bus station in Třebíč, which was built immediately next to the railway station. The visitors viewed historical gems as well as state-of-the-art technology in the form of low-floor trains and buses with a lifting platform, which demonstrated the barrier-free capacity of the new station whose road section cost CZK 79 million and the railway section cost another CZK 60 million. The project was co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development.
The bus section has nine new bus stands. On Monday, 1 June 2015, municipal buses and suburban buses will begin running to the new terminal. "The operation will be implemented in two stages", said Aleš Kratina, head of the transport department of Třebíč Town Hall. Train passengers have already been using the newly built platform for some time.
