Award for COLAS CZ, a.s. in the 2017 TOP Building Company competition

On June 4th, 2018, Tomáš Krones, Chairman of the Board of Directors of COLAS CZ, received an award for the second place in the 2017 TOP Building Company competition.

The award was presented by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. In the competition, A total number of 324 contracting authorities (cities, municipalities and other public investors) evaluated the quality of executed works, the observance of the time schedules and the agreed prices. It is impossible to sign in the TOP Building Company of the Year competition, the 25 largest public works contractors are nominated automatically for the respective year (according to the number of public contracts).

"This year we have also confirmed our second place in this very prestigious competition, for the third consecutive time. And that's really a great news for us. The award in the competition, where more than 300 representatives of our customers decide, is a perfect feedback. It is confirmed that COLAS has been in the forefront of their interest and, thus, among the top leaders of Czech construction companies. I would like to thank our clients and all of you for this award, your hard work and high commitment are absolutely key factors in this success. We are all bound to do our best to successfully defend this position next year," commented CEO Tomáš Krones.

Colas renews its commitment to road safety

On Wednesday, December 8, Frédéric Gardès, Chairman and CEO of Colas, signed the "Seven Commitments for a Safer Road" with Marie Gautier-Melleray, France’s Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety. Over the last 24 years, Colas has been acting in partnership with public authorities to improve road safety, and will continue to play a strong role in the future with the new agreement.

Kácov bridge

The Kácov bridge project involves the construction of a new three-span road bridge with a total length of approximately 75 m over the Sázava River. COLAS CZ built the new bridge to replace the existing structure, which is no longer suitable due to poor condition, limited load capacity and unsuitable geometric parameters for traffic crossing.
