Award for COLAS CZ, a.s. in the 2015 Czech Transportation Construction/Technology/Innovation of the Year competition

The award ceremony for the thirteenth annual 2015 Czech Transportation Construction/Technology/Innovation of the Year competition was held on 16 June 2016 in the auditorium of the Czech Technical University in Prague in Bethlehem Chapel.

Our company was awarded the Ministry of Transportation’s Prize for the Northeast Tangent project in Mladá Boleslav.

The aim of the competition is the presentation of the Czech transportation construction and engineering to not only the general public and the professional community, but also to Czech and European political representatives. Eligible entries included transportation projects, sections of transportation projects, individual structures, technology and innovation not presented in this competition as of 1 January 2011 and which passed final inspections or were put into operation in the Czech Republic by 31 December 2015.

The jury appointed by the competition’s professional overseers evaluated a record 52 entrees fulfilling the competition conditions.

Colas renews its commitment to road safety

On Wednesday, December 8, Frédéric Gardès, Chairman and CEO of Colas, signed the "Seven Commitments for a Safer Road" with Marie Gautier-Melleray, France’s Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety. Over the last 24 years, Colas has been acting in partnership with public authorities to improve road safety, and will continue to play a strong role in the future with the new agreement.

Kácov bridge

The Kácov bridge project involves the construction of a new three-span road bridge with a total length of approximately 75 m over the Sázava River. COLAS CZ built the new bridge to replace the existing structure, which is no longer suitable due to poor condition, limited load capacity and unsuitable geometric parameters for traffic crossing.
